TajikGPT offers a discounted Student tier ($3.99/month) for verified students. To qualify, users must complete a verification process that involves submitting identity documents. This policy explains how we collect, process, and protect this sensitive data.
Our Commitment
We collect the minimum data necessary for verification and delete sensitive documents promptly after the verification process is complete.
2. What We Collect
During student verification, we collect:
- Student ID photo: A clear photo of your valid student identification card
- Live selfie: A real-time photo of you holding your student ID for identity matching
- Institution name: The name of your educational institution
What We Extract
From your student ID, we only verify: your name (matching your account), that the ID is valid and current, and that the institution is a recognized educational institution. We do not store or process student ID numbers, grades, or other academic information.
3. How We Process Verification
- Verification is performed by authorized Soullab administrators only
- Your photos are transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/SSL)
- Photos are stored in a secure, access-restricted directory during review
- Administrators compare the selfie with the ID photo to confirm identity
- Verification decisions are typically made within 24-48 hours
4. Data Retention
Deletion Timeline
All uploaded photos (student ID and selfie) are permanently deleted within 30 days after the verification decision, whether approved or rejected.
- During review: Photos stored securely for up to 48 hours
- After approval: Photos deleted within 30 days; only verification status (approved/rejected) and date are retained
- After rejection: Photos deleted within 30 days; you may resubmit with new photos
- Account deletion: All verification data deleted immediately
5. Who Has Access
- Only authorized Soullab administrators can view verification submissions
- We do not share your verification photos with third parties
- We do not use automated facial recognition or biometric analysis
- Verification is performed manually by human reviewers
6. Your Rights
- Withdraw: You may cancel your verification request at any time before a decision is made
- Delete: Request immediate deletion of your verification photos at any time
- Access: Request information about what verification data we hold
- Object: Object to the processing of your verification data

7. Re-verification
Student status may need to be re-verified annually. We will notify you in advance and the same data handling procedures apply to re-verification.
